Dear Mister Condo,
I live in a condo with a “first come, first served” ruling. I was told If I go out fishing and someone is in my spot they can stay there. I thought once I put my boat in I was good for the season? Thank You!
Mister Condo replies:
J.P., I hope you are enjoying a great fishing season wherever you are. I do not live in a community with boating rights and I am not overly familiar with the management or governance of the dock as an association asset. Who oversees the amenity? If it is a property manager, ask for their advice and help in securing your space. If it is a volunteer Board member who is responsible, why not ask if you can help out so you can get a better understanding of how the “first come, first served” rule is applied. As long as it is applied universally and no one is receiving preferential treatment, I would say you should swim with the school on this one. Happy Fishing!
