Dear Mister Condo,
The condominium association rules which we signed when purchasing the apartment state that pets are not allowed. Is this contract legal within EU Laws? At the time of purchase, this was not an issue. However, we would like to adopt a pet.
Mister Condo replies:
M.S., I have to admit that I don’t know what EU Laws are with regards to pet ownership and condominiums. However, condo associations can certainly restrict pets, which would prevent you from adopting a pet without violating the pet restriction rules. They cannot restrict emotional support animals, which are not classified as pets. If that is what you were referring to when you mentioned EU Laws, then you really have no concerns. Other than that, you should follow the rules of the association. If they don’t allow pets, you shouldn’t have any. All the best!
