Dear Mister Condo,
Power washing siding and bricks. All units have open deck units. Sent email to remove all items from patios, front entrances etc. Why am I left with my 6 ft by 13 ft patio/deck to power wash?
Mister Condo replies:
J.P., I am sorry that your patio/deck wasn’t power washed after you removed your items from it. Was yours the only unit that didn’t receive power washing? That could have been a simple oversight that you could report to the Board or Association Manager. If none of the patio/decks were power washed, it is possible that maintenance of that limited common element lies with you, the owner. Even then, it would be common for the association to provide the service and simply bill the individual unit owners for the service. However, in that case, the association doesn’t have to coordinate the service, they can just require unit owners to have their patio/decks power washed once per year or such. Check with the Board and ask if you were overlooked or if power washing is unit owner responsibility. All the best!
