Dear Mister Condo,
Are storage units considered part of your purchased condo or are they randomly assigned?
Mister Condo replies:
R.C., great question! Depending on how your deed and/or governing documents are written will let you know this answer. If your deed specifies that a storage unit is included and provides a physical description of the locker’s location (usually the number of the storage unit) then it is part of your purchased condo. Far more common would be a statement in either the deed or the governing documents that a storage unit is included. Unless there is more language than that, the storage unit is part of the common area and is under control of the association (Board) who maintains the common element and may assign or reassign as they see fit. Hope that helps. All the best!
